Savk:  You may have noticed a lot of the shows are labled "Savk" lately, so I thought I better clear the air.  "Savk" is simply my name (Stephen Andre van Kampen) "Savk" is my new solo effort, kind of a side project of Beija Flor.  The beggining of August is super busy with this project, as BF is taking a little break for a little bit of summer fun.  You can expect to see an EP from Savk in late summer early fall (Im in the studio as I speak), but for a sneak preview, come to one of my shows!  I may even sell you a demo in the meantime for cheap!  To hear some live stuff check out www.myspace.com/savksongs
Paul:  Paul of BF fame is also working on a little side project this summer, and is currently recording as well.... stay tuned for more details!
Beatroute:  Can you believe Beatroute is 5 already?  Holy smoke!  Our friend Glenn (Head Honcho at Beatroute) has been very good to us over the years, and he continues to show his support to us, and us to him!  You can find Beija Flor on the 5th anniversary Beatroute Comp, and we are playing the big part at the Local 522 in Calgary on August 29th.

Sled Island has come and gone, and as usual we had a blast.   June has been a little sad due to the passing of MJ, who (if you have any musical bone in your body) you can appreciate gave so much to music.  Anyways, We are very pumped for "Blow Out Fest" and "Mukwah Fest"  Hope to see ya'll there!  Also, if you are reading this, you are on our new shiny website!  Thanks to the eternally sexy Bryce Sluchenski for putting this together.  See the link below for Bree Media if you wish to have a website, recording, merch or whatever that is second to none!

Sorry for two Newsletters in one month, but a ton of stuff has happened in the last two weeks!
1)  Beija Flor has a new drummer.  Dan Wilson has agreed to join us and we are all very happy to have him!
2)  Moustache Rock was a blast... thanks for everyone who came out.
